Carbon Offset

How Much Carbon?

Among the team of 6 people, we will be traveling a total of 132,108 miles total or 22,018 miles each.

Our flights to, in and from Indonesia released 59.25 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere.

Our carbon offset costs are calculated to be at 40 U.S. dollars per person.

Note - Calculations were generated from carbonfund.org

Our Carbon Offset Mission

We will be donating to the Friends of the National Parks Foundation to offset our carbon emissions. They do important work in Kalimantan, otherwise known as Borneo, restoring forest habitat and monitoring existing forests. Additional programs they support include the development of sustainable farming and the empowerment of local communities. Their work is a model of sustainability and environmental conservation that we want to support. It benefits the natural environment as well as the local community to work towards a sustainable future. If you feel inclined, please explore their work further and perhaps consider your own contribution.

The donation is set to be made by the end of September 2016.
